10 LINES ON ONE NATION ONE ELECTION
1) One nation one election, aimed to organize one election for the whole country.
2) The first simultaneous election was held in 1952.
3) It was practiced for 18 consecutive years from 1952 to 1970.
4) Due to dissolution of some assembly in 1968 and 1969 the cycle of simultaneous elections in India was disturbed.
5) In 2016, Narendra Modi (Prime Minister) has suggested this recommendation again.
6) The idea was supported by Ramnath Kovind (President) along with Pranab Mukherjee (former President).
7) In past few years, elections are held at different time in different places.
8) Election is the process through which we can select our leader.
9) One nation One Election refers to the idea of conducting election once in a five year.
10) The idea is to organize LokSabha and state assembly election at the same time.
